Linux From Scratch

Linux From Scratch (LFS) is a project that provides you with step-by-step instructions for building your own custom Linux system, entirely from source code. As you can imaging, building a Linux distribution from scratch is not for the feint-hearted. It is a complex and time consuming process that can take days to do.

LinuxUK helped with the development of nALFS, an automated tool to build the systems from the LFS project. Using XML technologies (libxml2 and coded in C, nALFS became the standard tool for the community to use when automating their build.

Entertainer

Entertainer aims to be a simple and easy-to-use media center solution for the Gnome and XFce desktop environments. Entertainer is written completely in Python using an object-oriented programming philosophy. It uses GStreamer’s multimedia framework for multimedia playback. The user interface is implemented with the Clutter library, which allows sleek OpenGL animated user interfaces. Entertainer also uses other great projects like SQLite, pyIMDBb and iNotify.

Royal Mail now deliver curries!

This is what the postman brought me today at work, a Mas Parental Curry Pack from Rafi’s Spicebox. I’ve heard about Rafi’s before from a few friends and being the curry fan that I am, I decided to try it.

Rafi’s basically do all the hard work for you, adding the spices, chopping the chilli’s e.t.c, all you have to do is add the meat and any other ingredients that you want. This particular curry bag requires some coconut cream and chopped tomatoes too.

Mmm, now to get home and cook it!
